Sheridans Transition to Practice Program

Finding a job is likely, but knowing it is the right job is more difficult

Sheridan's Transition to Practice ("TTP") program is designed to aid residents as they move beyond residency and into practice. There are numerous questions to ask when considering a practice opportunity, and sometimes the most important questions are those residents do not know to ask.

Many physicians out of training accept the 'best' position in terms of salary and benefits. They do not look at the bigger picture of whether the position is a good fit from a professional and personal perspective. Decisions are made too quickly or without enough information about the situation they are about to enter.

The TTP lecture is a comprehensive, hour-long, interactive discussion led by board certified anesthesiologists and members of our business and management team. Topics include Anesthesia Practice Options, Understanding Anesthesia Compensation and Staffing Trends, and to educate resident on the many aspects involved in a job search including sources to help find the right job, create a curriculum vitae, navigate through the interview process and understanding credentialing time lines.

Currently, TTP is offered to anesthesiologists and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists. We are looking to expand this program to other clinical focuses including Neonatology, Emergency Medicine and Radiology.
